Glen Edward Lane, 53, of Charlotte, NC passed away on July 6, 2022 at Wellstar Paulding Hospital in Hiram, GA. He was born on July 10, 1968 in Lumberton, NC to the late John Henry Smith and Nettie Mae Lane.
Glen graduated from West Mecklenburg High School in Charlotte, NC. He started his 24 year truck driving career in Charlotte, NC. Glen was an Over The Road "OTR" driver for his entire career, traveling across the whole country. The last eight years of his career, Glen drove for L.T.I. Trucking Services out of St. Louis, Missouri until the time of his death.
Glen was a member of Ebenezer A.M.E. Zion Church in Midland, North Carolina for many years.
HE WAS A LOVING AND DEVOTED FATHER AND GRANDFATHER.
He is survived by his children Treon Dontray (Natara S.) Harris-Lane of Dallas, GA, Nancy Iesha Ar-Kisha Lane of Jonesboro, GA; a Goddaughter, Tamya Janae Moses of Charlotte, NC; a lifelong best friend and partner, Shaw-ketta Harris of Hiram, GA; brothers, Henry F. (Katie) Smith of Charlotte, NC; Terry K. Smith of Sumnter, SC, and Michael J. (Priscilla O.) Smith of Charlotte, NC; sisters, Jeanette L. (Eddie V.) Sanders of Sumnter, SC, Sandra D. Smith of Charlotte, NC, and Rulth-Ann Smith of Sumnter, SC; grandchildren, Devaryon Farley of Dallas, GA, Trevion J. Harris-Lane of Dallas, GA, Talaijah S. Harris-Lane of Dallas, GA, and Treon D. Harris-Lane, Jr. of Dallas, GA; eight nieces and seven nephews, and a host of cousins, family, and friends. Glen will be be deeply missed.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 30 at 3pm at Clark Funeral Home Chapel in Hiram, GA with Rev. Darrell Long officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 to 3 pm prior to the service.
