He was born in Welch on February 7th, 1945 to his parents, Henry Lee Grant and Beautis Jean Ashworth. On May 4th, 1965, he married the former Mary Potter. They enjoyed 57 years of marriage.
He drove a truck for 40 years hauling freight and livestock. He served his country in the United States Army. After retirement, he enjoyed woodworking, horseback riding, gardening, and being outdoors.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Mary, of the home in Welch; two sons, Paul Ashworth and wife Jill of Stroud, Okla. and Thomas Jeffrey Ashworth and wife Staci of Joplin, MO; two brothers, Vic Karnes of Columbia, MO and Brad Karnes of Alabama; six grandchildren, Paul (Amber) Ashworth, Sarah (Josh) Ashworth, Samantha (Dustin) Watson, Christopher (Mary) Ashworth Jessica (Logan) Tapani, and Katie (Spencer) Nickell; ten great grandchildren, with #11 on the way; and five nieces and nephews.
