Evelyn was a loving wife and mother and lived in Indiana for 59 years. A housewife and stay at home mom, she worked at Southern Plaza Laundry and Tan for over a decade. She was a very loving, giving and generous woman.
She leaves behind two daughters, Despine Norwood (Jeff Robinson) from Arkansas, Michelle Smith of Indianapolis; two sons, Max (Courtney) Smith from Indianapolis, Mike Smith from Indianapolis; three brothers, Terry Buie of Arkansas, Phil Buie of Oregon and Tony Buie of Arkansas; 10 grandchildren; 17 great- grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil M. Smith, Jr.; parents, Curtis and Katherine Buie; her biological mother, Effie E. (Johnson) Buie; sisters, Treva House and Shelly Arivette; granddaughter, Shana Smith, and daughter-in-law, Renee Hammersley Smith.
A visitation for Evelyn will be held Thursday, July 21, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Little & Sons Funeral Home, 1301 Main Street, Beech Grove. Following the visitation there will be a graveside service at 2:30 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, 910 North Morgantown Road, Greenwood, Indiana.
