Mr. Jimmy M. Smith, age 86, of 1816 Whitmire Hwy., Union, widower of Norma Turner Smith, passed away, Monday, July 18, 2022 at his son's home.
Mr. Smith was born December 3, 1935 in Duluth, GA, a son of the late James Claude Smith and Mabel Smith. He was a graduate of Duluth High School and retired after 29 years from the United States Postal Service having worked in Georgia, Florida and South Carolina. He was a member of Mon Aetna Baptist Church where he was a long-time Sunday School Teacher, he also served in many other capacities including, as a Deacon and on the Building Committee.
Surviving are two sons, Lee Smith and Mark Smith both of Union; three grandchildren, Thomas Smith, Matthew Wilson, and Dianne Stebbins; and two great-grandchildren, Tristin Johnson and Taylor Johnson. He was predeceased by a daughter, Susan Adams and a sister, Peggy Barker.
Private services will be held by the family.
