Margaret M. Woods, age 82 of Forest River, ND passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at Valley Senior Living in Grand Forks, ND.

Margaret M. Woods was born August 7, 1939, at her parent's farm near Inkster, ND. Margaret was born the daughter of Henry and Sara (Bannerman) Amundson. Margaret graduated from Inkster High School in 1957. She then went on to NDSU at Fargo and was a member of the Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority. In March 1961, she was employed at the Red River National Bank in Grand Forks for three years.

Margaret married Robert G. (Bob) Woods, the son of Walter and Myra Woods on September 8, 1962, in Inkster, ND. The couple lived on a farm near Forest River. Margaret and Bob had 2 children, Amy Woods Carroll and Chad (Freddie) Woods.

Margaret was a very active member in her community. She was assistant 4-H Leader of the Johnstown Jills 4-H club for years and was a member of the Forest River Community Church and past treasurer of the Church Women's Association. Margaret was a member of the Johnstown-Forest River Homemakers Club and recently retired after 46 years as clerk of the Forest River Township. Margaret was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and was a part-time employee of Bremer Bank for 30 years, the primary location being in Forest River.

Margaret was most known for her zest for life and having fun with her family and friends. She was also known for her cake baking and decorating skills. She made many birthday, wedding, anniversary, and graduation cakes for friends and family.

What Margaret treasured most was her 3 grandsons and her great-granddaughter. She attended many soccer, hockey and track events and was always up for a road trip to see her grandsons compete. Margaret adored her great-granddaughter Adelyn—her face lit up whenever Adelyn was around.

Margaret is survived by her daughter, Amy Woods Carroll of Grand Forks, ND; son, Chad (Freddie) Woods of Forest River, ND; grandchildren: Samuel Carroll (Brittany Cain); Parker Carroll; Tanner Carroll; and great-granddaughter Adelyn; sister, Mary Whaley of Fordville, ND; sister-in-law, Dorothy Amundson of Grand Forks, ND; and many nieces and nephews.

She was proceeded in death by her husband, Bob; her parents, Henry & Sara Amundson; and brothers: George (Shirley) Amundson and Thomas Amundson.

Funeral services: Tuesday, July 19, 2022, at the Forest River Community Church, Forest River, ND. Interment will be at the Forest River Cemetery, Forest River, ND.
