He was a 1984 graduate of Cole R-5 and went onto attend Lincoln University. Roger worked as a certified nurse's aide (CNA) for several local nursing homes, Cole County Residential Services, and at Classic Nursery. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Special Olympics and People First of Missouri. He enjoyed gardening and working outdoors. Roger was a passionate advocate for people with disabilities. Most of all he loved his family and making memories with them. He will be greatly missed.
Roger is survived by his wife of 34 years, Becky; mother, Mary Dickey; brothers, Randy Dickey (Kelli) and James Dickey (Kelli); sister, Leslie Duckworth (Shawn); numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Leslie Dickey; mother-in-law, Dorothy Shiver-Ellis; grandparents, Victor and Mathilda Cassmeyer and Vera Dickey.
Friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at St. Margaret of Antioch Catholic Church in Osage Bend. Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be held at St. Margaret of Antioch Parish Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, it is strongly encouraged that expressions of sympathy may be made to People First of Missouri or Special Olympics of Jefferson City.
