On July 14, 2022, Leslie Dale Thompson slipped away in his sleep to be with God and the rest of his family, surrounded by his loving wife of 25 years, Azalia (Rivera) Thompson and his stepdaughter, Ramona D. Jamison. He was preceded in death by parents, Kermit and Callie (Counts) Thompson; brothers, Leon L. Thompson, Kenneth Thompson Sr.; sisters, P. Oneida Thompson, Jimmie Peachlum, Ruby Nathan, Panchita Bethune and P. Oleda Thompson, as well as his best friend for many years, Paul Orr. Mr. Thompson, affectionately known as Dale was a U.S. Army Veteran. There will be a viewing on Friday, July 22 from 9 to 10 a.m. at the John W. Keffer Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc, 902 Mount Rose Avenue, York with a short funeral service to follow at his request. Chaplain Margie Stevens of ProMedica Hospice Care will officiate. Burial with full military rites presented by the York County Veterans Honor Guard will be in Mount Zion Cemetery. In addition to his wife, Azalia Thompson and stepdaughter, Ramona D. Jamison, Mr. Thompson leaves behind, daughters, Antoinette Thompson, Irish Jay Thompson and Monica Lynn Thompson; son, Leslie Dale Lopez; and a host of grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
