Michael Tyrone Wright, born September 2, 1964, in Wilmington, Delaware to Laverne Wright and the late Otis Wright Jr. He was beaconed to glory and received his wings on July 5, 2022. Michael, also known as Mike from friends, Mikey from family, Mr. Mike from the neighborhood and Mike Mike from Debbie (lifelong companion). He received his early education from the Wilmington Public Schools and graduated from Glasgow High School Class of 1982. Mike was generous, dependable, kind, funny, thoughtful, and always helpful. He was not ashamed to speak his mind as he was not shy to make a point. He loved music, especially, listening to oldies but goodies and was the life of the party. As a teenager he was a part of a break dance group called the "Untouchables." He was extremely neat, always dressed well and smelled good. He loved his mom, children, grandchildren, siblings, and grandfather. He was also a dedicated fan to the Philadelphia Eagles. Mike Mike and Debbie spent quality time shopping at the Farmers Market in New Castle, DE, Cowtown in NJ and Boothwyn PA, as well as several other places. He shared quality moments with Debbie's Mom and Grandmom. Mikey loved the Lord and recently was seeking a closer walk with Him. He was baptized January 31, 2010 and attended Mother African Union Church. He currently was employed by Tile Market of Delaware; his other employment was with NuCar, Gracelawn Memorial Cemetery, Service Pro, Angerstein's, Dupont Company, Luther Towers II, Rent-A-Center, and Delaware Park, just to name a few. He was preceded in death by his father, Otis Wright Jr., grandmothers Eleanor Johnson, and Betty Wright; grandfather Otis Wright Sr., and brother-in-law Vincent Robertson. He leaves to cherish his precious memory: mother, Laverne Wright; 2 sons Markeves Custis Sr. (Rochelle) and Michael Washington; one daughter Michele Washington; 5 siblings Jay Wright, Kimberly Wright-Robertson, Ne-Ne Wright, Desandra Jackson, and Crystal Bennett; grandfather Roland T. Johnson; 7 grandchildren Keiandra, Markeves Jr., Samai, Key'Mani, Kamren, Zakhai, and Markese; one aunt Darla Chase, 2 great-aunts, Helen Mason and Tanya Mason; one uncle Eric Wright; and his life-long companion Deborah Pinkston; along with a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and special devoted friends.
