Carol D. May, 65, of Irwin, passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 15, 2017, at Family Hospice and Palliative Care, Pittsburgh. She was born Jan. 17, 1952, in McKeesport, a daughter of the late William and Barbara Maguire Wetzler. Carol was employed by Westinghouse, Waltz Mill as an administrative assistant and a graduate of Norwin Senior High School, Class of 1969. She attended Word of Life Church, was an avid reader and was an amazing loving and selfless momma and mimi. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Justin Joseph. She is survived by her sons, Mark and Michael Fisher; daughter, Ashlee Pliska and her husband, Timothy; brother, William Wetzler; sisters, Cindy Laux and her husband, Roy, Melissa Gorrell and her husband, Brian; foster brothers, Joseph Martinelli and Jonathan Burkett; six grandchildren; and a grandbaby due in September.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the JAMES W. SHIRLEY FUNERAL HOME, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon. A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. www.shirleyfuneralhome.com.
