CONESTOGO. The death occurred at her late home after a lingering illness on Thursday forenoon, of Mrs. Charles Jacobi, at the age of 74 years.
The departed, nee Sophia [tombstone and death registration state Friederika] Augustine, was born in the Jerusalem section where she also spent her childhood and a great portion of her married life, the remaining years being spent on the farm between here and Bridgeport. She was a faithful member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in this village. The late husband predeceased her by one and one-half years.
There survive one son, Herman, of Lexington, and four daughters, (Sophie) Mrs. Herman Geisel of Breslau, (Emma) Mrs. Emanuel
Foell) of Glenallen, (Hilda) Mrs. A. Kurtz, of Mannheim, and (Edna) (Mrs. Wm. Heimpel) on the home farm.
The funeral was held on Sunday afternoon. A brief service was held at the home followed by the chief service in St. Matthew's Lutheran Church and burial on the adjoining cemetery. Rev. S. J. Wittig was in charge of the services.
