Clay Winford Berry died as a result of a mining accident on June 10, 1941 at St. Joseph Lead Company. He was born was born at Brunot, MO., Dec. 29, 1986 to the late Henry and Margaret Marsh Berry.

On May 25, 1922, he was united in marriage to Miss Erma Rogers, who survives along with three children: Earl, 18, Jean, 15 and Dale, 4.

Besides his widow and children, he leaves three brothers: William Berry of Annapolis, Oscar Berry of Arcadia and Paul Berry of Flat River, and four sisters: Mrs. Warren Kelly and Mrs. Luther Miller of Annapolis; Mrs. Ben Meadows of Flat River and Mrs. William Simpson of Desloge, other relatives and many friends.

Mr. Berry had been a faithful member of the Free Will Baptist Church in Flat River for a number of years. He was a World War veteran and had lived in St. Francois County since his youth. A kind and loving husband, father and brother, he will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 13th at 4 p.m. at the Free Will Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Jas. F. Miller of Novinger, MO., assisted by the Rev. Damon Dodd, the Pastor. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Boyer Service.
