Margaret Hatfield Lucas, 81 of Gilbert, departed this life Friday, July 15, 2022 from Pikeville Medical Center.

Born June 27, 1941 at Welch, WV she was the daughter of the late Garnet (Preston) and John G. Adams, Sr.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husbands: Clarence Hatfield and John Lucas.

Margaret enjoyed gardening, shopping, working with her flowers, and spending time with her family and friends. She was of the Church of God Faith.

Those left to love and cherish her memory are her daughters: Brenda (Linus) Davis of North Spring, WV, Gwendolyn (Michael) Sloan and Patricia (Dandridge) Browning, all of Oceana, WV; her son: Tennis (Rebecca) Hatfield of Orange City, FL; grandchildren: Jennifer Sloan, Sarah (Mitchell) Rhines, Nicole (Scottie) Cline, Betsy (Chris) Stafford, Marvin Davis, Robert Hatfield, Caitlyn Davis, Daniel Browning; 11 great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and other dear relatives and friends.

Friends may gather with the family Friday, July 22, 2022 from 12:00 till 2:00 pm at the Sprattsville Freewill Baptist Church, Sprattsville, WV. Funeral services will commence there at the church on Friday July 22, 2022 at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow in the Hollywood Cemetery in Gilbert, WV.

Margaret will be carried to her resting place by her family and friends.

Her wonderful smile and gentle heart will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have known and loved her.
