Ken was born on September 30, 1939 in Oakland, California and left us on April 20, 2022 in Hayward, California at 82 years of age.
Ken was raised in San Leandro, CA and graduated from San Lorenzo High School in 1958. He went to work for Coca-Cola, retiring after nearly five decades of service. For many years he served as the Teamsters Union Shop Steward helping to protect his fellow coworkers.
Ken loved his family, camping, fishing, sports, his 1958 Chevy Bel Air, and his 1956 Ford F-100 Truck. Ken held a few records in high school at the Fremont Drag Strip in his red Plymouth Valiant with his friend Harvey Reed.
Ken was a member of the Ford F-100 Elites of Northern California Truck Club East Bay Chapter for over 46-years and won many awards with is 1956 Ford F-100 Truck. Some of Ken's children also fell in love with older cars and trucks, with his son Chris and daughter Deanne becoming long standing members to the same truck club.
Ken leaves behind his wife Linda of 37 years, his children Deanne, Chris, Mike, Pauline, Steve, and Michelle, ten grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, three siblings Gail, John, and Denise, four nephews, and two nieces. Ken was preceded in death by his parents John and Lucie Garcia, his father Arthur Kenneth Rogers, a grandson Randy Hooper, and a nephew Richard Johnson.
Ken was an easy going and forgiving soul who made friends everywhere he went.
Pallbearers were John Garcia (brother), Mike (son), Don Otvos, Robert Garcia-Hernandez, Mitchell Garcia (nephews), and Brandon Rogers (grandson).
Kenneth was interned at the Chapel of the Chimes Cemetery in Hayward, California on Saturday May 14, 2022 at 12pm.
