Peggy Griffin Hogg, 77, passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2022. She was born in Jacksonville, Florida on September 5, 1944 and daughter of the late Jasper James Mathis and Mattie Lucille Hill Mathis.
Peggy loved working at Wal-Mart for 15 years in the Garden Department. She loved working in her yard and plants. Some of her hobbies included gardening in her yard and long drives. She loved to travel to the mountains and listening to Bob Seeger. Peggy loved the Lord and often spoke of going to Heaven, to be with those who went ahead of her.
Preceded in death by her parents; 3 sisters: Willa, Shelby and Vivian and 1 brother, James "Uncle Plinker" Mathis. Married to John C. Griffin (deceased) for 25 years and to James Daniel Hogg over 20 years.
Surviving family include her husband; 3 children: Gretta Dallimore (Jeff), Chuck Griffin (Jennie) and Deborah Davis; 6 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 1 sister: Veeda; many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
Celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at Peeples Funeral Home, 14165 N. Main Street. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
Her family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Monday, June 27, 2022 at the funeral home.
