Donald "Don" Charles Harris

Donald Charles Harris, better known as "Don", passed away at his home surrounded by his family on July 13th, 2022 at 9:12 a.m. He was born February 2nd, 1938 in Heltonville, Indiana to Walter and Lorene Harris. He married Judith Carol (Meade) Harris on June 21st, 1960. They had three daughters together; Maryann, Vicky, and Anita.
Survivors include two daughters Vicky (Mark) Hunter and Anita (Ken) Ruby. Grandchildren Tommy Boyd, Donnie (Jennifer) Hunter, Jay (Amanda) Boyd, Spenser (Danielle) Hunter, Andrew (Jennifer) Brown, Mark T. Hunter, and Jessica Hunter. He is also survived by a sister, Darvel (Harris) Buck, several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his wife Judith Carol Harris, daughter Maryann Harris, both parents Walter and Lorene Harris, brother, Dee Harris, sisters, Delphia Lawson and Doris May.
Don spent many early years in the Heltonville area where he attended school until the 8th grade. He ultimately landed in the Franklin/Bargersville area where he worked and owned his own business, Don Harris Plumbing & Heating. Don and Judy had several rental homes around the Franklin area. He was an avid dirt track racecar owner and fan. He enjoyed traveling to Daytona with his wife and friends Roger (Brenda) Mullins annually for several years to attend the Daytona 500.
The Rev. Harold Godsey will officiate a service at 11 a.m. Tuesday July 19 at Flinn and Maguire Funeral home, 2898 North Morton Street, (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin, Indiana. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Monday July 18 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.
