Mr. George E. Anderson, 78, of Galesburg, Illinois died at 3:58 a.m. Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at Seminary Manor, Galesburg.

He was born March 17, 1944, in Bloomington, Illinois to Melville and Laura (Bennett) Anderson. He married Mary Curtis in 1963 in Galva, Illinois. He later married Lynne Carlson.

Surviving are two sons, Tom Anderson of Galva and Timothy (and Carrissa) Anderson of Mayer, Arizona, a daughter, Teresa (and Jeff) Royse of Galesburg, a stepson, Richard Carlson of New Jersey, a stepdaughter, Amy (and Joe) Hatch of Oneida, Illinois, seven grandchildren, Christina (and David) Hyde, Mitchell Bledsoe, Joseph Royse, Jessica Anderson, Megan (and Sam) Voegele, Caleb Kuhn, and Logan Kuhn, three step-grandchildren, Brandon Hatch, Mallory Hatch, and Madi Hatch, and five great-grandchildren, Samantha Anderson, Ella Hyde, Rory-Elizabeth Anderson, Dexter Livingston, and Emmerich Voegele. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, David M. Anderson.

George graduated from Galva High School in 1962. He worked for Dixline in Galva as a plater and in shipping and receiving for several years. He was a member of Full Gospel Church in Galesburg. He was a member and served on the board of O.A.K.S. Senior Center in Galesburg. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing and golfing.

Cremation will be accorded. Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Sunday, July 17, 2022, at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Service Galesburg Chapel. A Celebration of Life will follow at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, July 17, 2022, at the chapel. Rev. Tony Franklin will officiate. Memorials may be made to the O.A. K.S.
