Graveside services for Mrs. Audrey Lavera George, age 101, of Sarepta, LA, will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at the Springhill Cemetery, Springhill, LA, with Rev. Gary Taylor officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill.
Mrs. George was born on October 30, 1920 to Charles H. and Margie I. McDuff Bounds in Hosston, LA and passed away on Monday, July 11, 2022 in Springhill, LA. She was a member of Springhill United Pentecostal Church and was a homemaker. She was a seamstress, and worked as a florist assistant, helping to direct many weddings. She enjoyed painting, was an active member of her church, a wonderful youth director and loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her two daughters, Jeanita Cox and husband, Horace of Sarepta, LA, Patty Burnette and husband, James of Deridder, LA; grandson, Brandon Cox and wife, DeAnn of Sarepta, LA; two granddaughters, Danette Null and husband, Rob of Lake Charles, LA, Jamie Burnette of Deridder, LA; four great-grandsons, Aaron Cox and wife, Ali of Friendswood, TX, Tyler Cox and wife, Tori of Bossier City, LA, Ian Cooley, Collin Null; great-granddaughter, Tessa Null; two great great granddaughters, Ivy Cox and Lilah Cox; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. George was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Morgan "Lefty" George; her parents; two sisters, Ina George, and Laron Hathorne; and a brother, Lavelle Bounds.
