Mrs Emma Selman, aged 81, died Thursday at the home in which she had lived for nearly fifty years, on rural route four.
Born April 7, 1856, in Valparaiso, she was united in marriage to John Selman, December 10, 1874, who preceded her in death 22 years ago. To this union were born 10 children of which one son and 7 daughters survive. In addition to 34 grandchildren & 52 great grandchildren, & 2 brothers. These are Mrs. James Wheeler, Mrs James Stafford, Mrs John Bentley, of Porter County, Mrs Olive Freeman, Davison, Mich., Mrs Lizzie Davis, Cleveland, Ohio; Mrs Ida Cool, Dalbo, Minn., & Nellie (? son), Coutts of Chicago. Brothers are William & Eri Hansford of Topeka, Kansas.
The decedent was a member of the Valparaiso Christian church & had spent most of her life on a farm.
Memorial services will be held at Christian church Sunday afternoon at one o'clock with burial in Kimball cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home this evening up until time of the service.
