Karen "Susie" Ewing, 76, of Pana passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2022 in her home. She was born August 1, 1945 in Pana, IL to the late Robert Richardson & Ina (Hatcher) Collins. Susie married Gary Ewing on March 28, 1965 in Tower Hill Methodist Church. He preceded her in death on March 29, 2015.
Susie was a graduate of Tower Hill High School and cosmetology school. She had worked as a cosmetologist and was also a homemaker. Susie was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Pana. She enjoyed sewing, painting, gardening, flowers and making flower arrangements. Susie loved taking care of her family, especially her children & grandchildren; her greatest love was her family.
Susie is survived by her children: Kerry (Julie) Ewing, Pana, IL & Sandy (Rich) Paden, Pana, IL; grandchildren: Sarah (Tony) Presnell, Ali Paden, Ryan Paden, Jesse (Erica) Ewing, Kasey (Lauren) Ewing, Kelsey Ewing (fiancé, Clint Gelsinger), Laura Ewing; great grandchildren: Emmett Ewing, Clay Ewing, Gavyn, Mason & Avery Presnell and Austin, Nate & Kye Ewing and siblings: Marilyn Peifer, Nadine Vandermeer & Steven Lenz. She was also preceded in death by her son, Brent Ewing on September 14, 2011.
A funeral service for Susie will be held on Monday, July 18, 2022 in First United Methodist Church, Pana at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor Jessica Baldyga officiating. Burial will be in Rosemond Grove Cemetery, Rosamond. A visitation will be held Monday from 10:00 a.m. until service time in the church.
Memorials in Susie's honor may be made to the First United Methodist Church, Pana or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and will be accepted by McCracken-Dean Funeral Home who is assisting the family.
