Joyce Martin was born to James Mullen and Grace Hopkinson Mullen in County Durham, England. She lived in Durham as a child and moved to Oldham/Royton with her family, but moved back to Durham to work as a young adult. In the mid 1950s, she moved to the United States where she married John Martin, the love of her life in 1961. They celebrated 54 years of marriage in 2015 before John passed away in October 2015. Joyce is survived by her three children and three of her four grandchildren. Her grandaughter Cristina Martin Montag passed away in 2020. She is also survived by two great grandchildren and her sister to whom she was very close, three nieces and their spouses, and many extended family and friends. She loved to travel, to play games, to paint, and to spend time with family and friends. She will be greatly missed.
