David Evans, age 61, of Holliday, Texas passed away July 9, 2022.
A celebration of life with military honors will be held at 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at the Holliday cemetery with Pastor Charlie Bazan of First Presbyterian Church of Graham.
David was born July 22, 1960 in Seattle, Washington to Preston Evans and the late Doris Evans.
He and Connie Cashion were married January 16, 2013 in Santa Rosa, California.
David served his country in The U.S. Army for two years and in The U.S. Air Force for ten years as an Electronic Warfare System Technician and was honorably discharged
June 1, 1992. Following his military career he found success as a business owner of East Texas Power Sweeping Company in Tyler, Texas. He then worked as an Independent Insurance Adjuster, later becoming a Field Manager, traveling across the United States working natural disasters and major catastrophes for over 20 years.
David was the most reliable family handyman, always helping us fix anything and everything. He enjoyed tools and gadgets ranging from drones, smart devices, knives and guns. He also enjoyed most genres of music and watching western and Disney movies with his kids and grandkids. But most of all, he enjoyed being Papa to his grandchildren. He built forts, obstacle courses, play sets, and orchestrated epic nerf gun battles. He was always in the middle of the fun being the biggest kid out of all of them.
He was the best husband, father, and Papa and we are so blessed to have been loved so deeply by him. He gave such unconditional love and acceptance and we are forever thankful he was ours.
Survivors include his wife, Connie of Holliday, Texas, Father, Preston Evans of Salem, Oregon, Sister Connie and husband David McFarland and five nieces of Bonnie Lake, Washington, mother-in-law, Waunella Cashion of Holliday, Texas, five children; Tammy and husband Ryan Gallant of Holliday, Texas, Kathleen and husband Ryan Swain of Norman, Oklahoma, Alex and husband Ethan Ferrall of Cache, Oklahoma, Curtis and wife Grace Rees of Holliday, Texas, John Evans of Chillicothe, Ohio; seven grandchildren: Charlotte and Luke Gallant, Jack and Walker Ferrall, Curtis and Austin Rees, and Cashion Swain.
David was preceded in death by his mother, Doris Evans, sister, Marti Parsons, father-in-law, Curtis Cashion, and the world's greatest dog, Livingston "Livers."
