Joshua Michael Paugh Bennett, age 32 of Valdese and formerly of Lenoir, passed away Thursday, March 25, 2021. He was born October 8, 1988 in Pulaski County, Kentucky. He was preceded in death by one grandfather, Bobby R. Bennett; one great-grandfather, Willard Paugh; one great-aunt, Sarah Peck; and one step-grandfather, J.C. Williams.
Joshua had never met a stranger and he made friends easily. He was very artistic and he enjoyed drawing, writing, roller-skating, and listening to music. He will be missed by many.
Survivors include; his mother Jennifer Bennett-Williams and step-father, John Williams, Jr. of Lenoir; father, Donald Bennett of Hinton, WV; his maternal grandparents, Wendell Paugh and wife Ann of Sophia, WV; one son, Elijah Ryan Bennett and the mother of his child, Ashley E. Bennett both of Charleston, SC; two brothers, Samuel L. Bennett of Lenoir; and niece, Abigail Grace Bennett of Vesta, VA, and Daniel Aaron Bennett and Fiancé Sedilia Mooney of Lenoir; one paternal grandmother, Laney Bennett of Beckly, WV; one uncle, Keith Bennett of Oak Hill, WV; one aunt Betty Fischer and husband Terry of Conway, SC; one cousin, Angela Farmer and husband Corey of Kentucky; numerous great aunts and uncles of Beckly, WV, Linda Boywer, Glenna and Jim Wood, Ellen and Sam Paugh, and Lori and Dennis Richards; one step-grandmother, Annette Williams; one step-uncle, David Williams; one step-brother, Jonathan Williams and wife Chelsea and child Camden of Wilkesboro; two step-sisters, Alicia Hamby and husband Lee and children, Paige, Korbin, and Easton of Lenoir and Christa McCoy and husband Seth and children, Cheyenne and Jace of Lenoir; and two cousins, Alan Peck and family of Conyers, GA and Eric Peck and family of Alaska.
