Scott G. "Skot" Giles, 47, passed away unexpectedly on July 12, 2022, at his home, surrounded by his family.

He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend. Skot was a gentle spirit with a kind soul. He was always generous and giving with his family and friends.

Skot was born in Havelock, North Carolina, at Cherry Point U.S. Marine Corps Base, on March 29, 1975, the son of Kenneth and Connie Giles. Upon his father's retirement from the Marine Corps, the family moved to Denver, Colorado, and then returned to his mother's native home of Bloomington, Indiana.

Skot was skilled professionally in many areas but primarily as a master carpenter and home renovator. He had numerous hobbies, interests, and artistic skills and took much pride in his beautiful craftsmanship. While working with metals, woods, and gems, he created unique pieces which he generously shared with family and friends.

Skot was very modest and selfless and avoided the spotlight, much preferring to have attention focused on the friends and family that he cherished. He will be greatly missed, but his spirit will live on in our hearts and minds.

Skot is survived by his wife, Amelia; his son, Isaac; his stepson, Spyro; his brother, Wesley; and his mother, Connie.

He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth, and his maternal grandparents, Clifford and Vera Freeman.

Services for Skot will begin at 4:00 P.M. on Sunday, July 17, 2022, at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard 3000 E. Third St. Bloomington, Indiana.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. on Sunday, July 17, 2022 at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard.

Memorial contributions may be made out to The Funeral Chapel for Skot's Children's School and Education Fund.
