She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins; and her dogs, Toby and Jackson.

Sheila was born on November 5, 1951 at the Mare Island Naval Hospital in Vallejo, CA to Harold and Barbara [Hayden] Jameson.

From 1952-54, Sheila lived on the island of Guam along with Gregory and mom while our dad served in the U.S. Navy.

This prompted Sheila to become quite a traveler in Iowa and throughout the United States which included many family reunions. She enjoyed a 14 day trip to Ireland in 1978 which she often spoke of. Later, she enjoyed traveling with her parents and sister to several ship reunions of which our dad served on during his 20 year Naval career, retiring in 1960 as a CW03.

Sheila grew up in Cedar Rapids and attended Grant Wood, McKinley Jr. High and Washington High School where she graduated in 1969 along with her brother.

She was a Camp Fire Girl, and a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir and played in the bell choir.

She went on to attend the University of Northern Iowa, graduating in 1973 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Teaching and English Second Language.

She was employed for 37 years as a Draftswomen at Link Belt/FMC. She worked from 1973-78 in Cedar Rapids, and then relocated to the Link Belt plant in Lexington, KY where she worked as a Drafter and later as a Tech Writer until her retirement in 2010.

Sheila liked playing the piano, recorder and clarinet. She also enjoyed playing cards, board games, and the company of others she was with.

Sheila will be fondly remembered in our hearts and thoughts.

Memorials in Sheila's name may be sent to West Ridge Care Center, 3131 F Ave. NW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52405, where she was a resident from July 2021 until the time of her passing. She was well cared for by the nursing staff on each shift. They enjoyed her and looked out for her.
