Anita M. Hagin, 83, died on July 8, 2022, at Woodmont Hospital, Tamarac, Florida.
Born Anita Marge Heckman on October 13, 1938, in Perth Amboy, NJ, Anita was the daughter of Walter and Helen (nee Kijula) Heckman and the sister of Ilona E. Johnson of Davenport, Florida.
Anita married Philip David Hagin in 1960, four years after graduating from Batten High School in Elizabeth, NJ. Anita and Dave "dated" by mail while Dave was completing his military service in Hawaii.
Anita worked for Prudential Insurance Company until she had her first child, Philip Mark, in 1964. Her second child, Catherine, was born two years later.
Anita and her family moved to Marlboro, NJ, in 1970. They lived there until 1994, when they moved to Lauderhill, Florida.
Anita enjoyed spending time with family and friends, watching her "stories" on TV, reading and playing cards. She and Dave enjoyed going to the movies, taking cruises, visiting national parks and hitting the slots in Atlantic City.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Dave, son Philip Mark (Christina) of Weston, FL, daughter Catherine M. (Cathy), who lives with her husband Stephen in Atlanta, and grandchildren Thomas James Hagin and Julia Grace Hagin, both of Weston.
Arrangements are with Alexander-Levitt Funerals at 8135 W. McNab Road, Tamarac, FL 33321. Visitation will be Monday, July 11, at 12-1:30, followed immediately by the funeral service.
Interment will be at Bailey Memorial at 7801 Bailey Road, North Lauderdale, FL 33068.
