Paul Icel Ferguson peacefully passed away on May 13th, 2022 at 10:33 pm at the Lakewood Regional Medical Center due to complications from his 6 year battle with cancer. He was 63 years of age and resided in Long Beach, CA. He was surrounded by his loving wife, daughters, and siblings when he took his last breath.
Born in the Philippines on August 10, 1958 to the late Alfred Tadong Ferguson and the late Ever Luague Ferguson, Paul was survived by his spouse of 38 years, Nelita Nielo Ferguson and (4) daughters, Grace, Rachel, Naomi, and Ruth; and also his (5) siblings, Alfred Jr., Jane, Cherry, Mark, and Ever Mae.
As a first generation from the Philippines, he proudly worked multiple jobs and double shifts to save and provide for his family. He is the epitome of determination and hard work.
Paul was humble, simple and raised his family in a good Christian home. Grounded in his faith, his love for Christ was reflected in everything he did. He proudly took on several roles in his church. He was a natural leader who led by example.
Bearing the burden of others was innate to Paul. He was charitable and took on a lot not to seek anything in return but because he cared and loved people, especially his family and friends. Making a positive impact in other people's lives is what mattered. Making people happy and comfortable was important to him.
From the way he spoke, people were always captivated by his wit and humor. He was a storyteller and enjoyed good conversation. He will be missed and his "Dad's jokes" treasured. His memory will last with those who were fortunate enough to meet him while on his path to heaven.
