Mrs. Amelia Lukens died Monday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Wolfert, at the age of 87 years, 10 months and 6 days.
Amelia Ann Lyons was born near the town of Bristol, Bucks county, Pennsylvania, November 20, 1822, and was married to Robert Lukens, in 1842. They moved to Troy, Ohio and stayed there for seventeen years, then to Pontiac, Illinois, for twelve years/ Then they moved to Jewell county for a year and in 1874 they moved to Osborne county, Kansas. They were among the early settlers of the county, and endured many pioneer life hardships. Four children were born, all are living. they are; Albert Lukens, of Downs, Kansas; Mrs. Jennie Wyckoff, of Sanger, California; Mrs. Catherine Richardson, of Killdare, Oklahoma and Mrs. Laura Wolfert of Downs, Kansas. Mr. Lukens, died August 1898.
Also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Nettie Armstrong, of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Mrs. Martha Armstrong, of Benton, Kansas
