ROGER W. GREGORY

Mr. Roger W. Gregory, age 74, husband of Kathy Chastain Gregory of 119 Royal Oak Dr., Union, passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at his home surrounded by his family.
Mr. Gregory was born in Union, January 20, 1948, the son of Austell and Agnes Bramlett Gregory. He was a 1966 graduate of Union High School and served as a full-time fireman with the City of Union from 1970 until 1977. He graduated from the SC Criminal Justice Academy in 1977 and served with the Union County Sheriff's Office until retirement in 2009. After retirement, Mr. Gregory remained active in law enforcement as a State Constable. He was a CPR instructor and 1996 became a certified CWP instructor having taught classes until recently. He served as Election Commissioner for the Union County Board of Voter Registration and had served on the Bonham Fire Department Board of Directors.
Mr. Gregory was a life long member of the Union Masonic Lodge #75 where he held various positions over the years and was currently serving as Secretary. He was also an active member of Mon Aetna Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Julie Gregory; a granddaughter, Madyson Gregory; and several cousins including a very special cousin, Judy Jett and her daughter, Amy Wylie and husband Jerry. He is also survived by in-laws, Trisha Culbreth, Mike Chastain and Wayne Chastain and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon, Friday, July 15, 2022 at Mon Aetna Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Brad Goodale. Burial with Police Honors and Masonic Rites will follow at Rosemont Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Friday from 10:00 until 11:45 AM at the church prior to the service.
Active pallbearers will be Michael Lancaster, Allen Owens, John Glenn, Dean Tollison, William Jolly and Howard Wells. Masons of the Union Masonic Lodge #75 and all other in attendance, along with active and retired Law Enforcement Officers are asked to serve as the honorary escort.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Union Masonic Lodge #75, c/o Michael Lancaster, 279 Deepwater Rd., Union, SC 29379.
The family will be at the home, 119 Royal Oak Dr., Union.
