Richard Carl Brown affectionately known as Dick, age 80 of Muir passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on July 9, 2022. Dick was born March 31, 1942 in Ionia, the middle of 3 sons, to Gerald M. and Phyllis M (Young) Brown. After graduating he served in the Army National Guard. He was part owner of Muir Electric and repaired electric motors for many years.
Dick loved fishing, MSU Hockey, the Detroit Tigers, and watching all of his nieces and nephews in their extracurricular activities. He always looked forward to traveling to Drummond Island, camping and Disney World. Dick had a passion for John Deere Lawn Mowers. He loved his family, and enjoyed spending time together.
Surviving are his brothers, Dale Brown of Muir and Wayne Brown (Deanna Baker) of Portland; Niece Angela (Thomas) Shinaver of Portland and Nephew Jason (Ashley) Brown of Caledonia; Great nieces and nephews; Hannah, Braden, Kylee, Justin, Aubrey, Brittany, Lance (Kelsey) and Carly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, infant sister and Sister-in-law Shirley Brown.
Funeral Services for Dick will be held at the Lake Funeral Home in Ionia, Wednesday July 13, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. with Mrs. Erin Weller officiating. Interment at Oakwood Cemetery in Muir.
