Kathy J. Gilpatrick Smith, age 68 of Livingston passed from this life on Sunday evening, July 10, 2022 in Livingston. She was born in Overton County on November 30, 1953 to the late Duvaugh "Dude" and Irene Ogletree Gilpatrick.
She was a graduate of Livingston Academy and a member of the Livingston Church of Christ. Kathy loved her family, friends, and her little town of Livingston. She was very patriotic and loved her country and Livingston Academy. Her greatest joy was watching anything her grandson Rocco was doing.
Kathy leaves behind her daughter: Myra (Josh) Thrasher Livingston; grandson: Rocco Carwile of Livingston; bonus grandchildren: Gabby and Neight Thrasher of Powell, Tennessee; brothers: Ben Gilpatrick and Ed Gilpatrick - both of Livingston; brothers-in-law: Ronald (Patricia) Smith and Ralph "Buck" Smith - all of Alpine; nephews: Eddie (Shelly) Gilpatrick of Livingston and Torrey (Brooke) Smith of Nolensville; nieces: Kendra (Gerald) Livingston of Monroe and Hannah (Trevor) Newberry of Livingston.
In addition to her parents, Kathy was preceded in death by her husband: Randy Smith; son-in-law: Jacob Carwile; sister: Karen Gilpatrick; sister-in-law: Linda Gilpatrick; and father & mother-in-law: Carl and Estell Smith.
Funeral Services were conducted Tuesday, July 12, 2022 from the Livingston Church of Christ with Bro. Chris Coil, and Bro. Bobby Gore officiating. Burial followed in the Overton County Memorial Gardens.
