Obituary of Robert Lee Dennis

Bob Dennis, 74, of Sapulpa, OK, and a longtime resident of Pensacola passed away July 10, 2022 after a hard-fought battle with Agent Orange Parkinson's. He is survived by his wife of 46 years Rebecca Reynolds Dennis, son Kevin (Jessica) and daughters Tamara (Dustin) and Kimberly (Jeff); grandchildren Kay, Adrienne, Samantha (Bobby), Noah, Katelynn, Kameraon, Alek, Riley and Jayden; great-grandchildren Ryker, Raelynn, Ellie and Ciel. All of whom he loved dearly. He is also survived by his sister Jacque (Clem), his Best Friend Jesse (Linda) and sister-in-law Winona (Jon) along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Bob graduated from McLain High School in Tulsa, OK, earned his BS degree from Cameron University in Lawton, OK and his Master of Arts in Business Administration from Webster University.

Bob retired from the Marine Corps in 1989 with over 10,000 flight hours having served as both an Army and Marine Corps Aviator in Vietnam, Beirut, Lebanon and many other areas. He also retired from the State of Florida after working for the Department of Corrections and Escambia County Board of County Commissioners as a Purchasing Agent. Bob believed that it was not only a responsibility but also a privilege to serve his country and his community.

He was predeceased by his mother Louise Walters, father Calvin Dennis, his stepfather Clarence Walters who he thought of as a father and his brother Bill Dennis.

The family would like to thank Coleen and Staff with First Light HHC and Jennifer with JD Caregivers for their loving care of Bob during a most difficult time. We could not have done this without you. We also thank Emerald Coast Hospice and Pensacola VA for everything they did to help us during his final days.

Bob requested no service but a visitation will be held at Oak Lawn Funeral Home with Military Honors on Thursday, July 14, 2022 from 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm.

Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.oaklawnfunerals.com for the Dennis family.
