Completed his earthly mission at age 100 at his home in Shelley of causes incident to age. Born in Farnum, Fremont County, Idaho. Second child and the first son of ten children of Brigham and Martha Luann Hammon Murdoch. Attend schools in Farnum and Ashton. Awarded a Union Pacific scholarship to the University of Idaho at Moscow. Graduated in vocational agriculture. Taught school in Midway, Emmett and Ucon. Married Winoma Lee in 1934 and had seven children. Married Agnes Simonsen in 1956 and had two daughters. Established Bonida Farm were he raised purebred livestock. Active in livestock organizations. President of Idaho Swine Breeders, Idaho Pork Producers and Idaho Sheep Breeders Associations. Took great pride in his livestock. Took top prizes at fairs and stock shows. Advice on farming matters sought after by others. Moved to Lima, Montana in 1947. Continued his farming and livestock operations. Farmed in Grant and Roberts. Returned to teaching in 1962. Taught in Sugar City and Idaho Falls. Started Hearthside Mfg. Produced and sold fireplace bellows nationwide. Sold his 25-year business just before his 90th birthday. Enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing in the rivers near Farnum and Ashton. Active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving as Branch President, Sunday School Presidency, High Council and officiator in the Idaho Falls Temples.

His wife, Agnes; three sons and five daughters Helen (Ronald) Hall, Dallas E. (Joan) Murdoch, Tom (Sharon) Murdoch, Ann (Allen deceased) Matesen, Ruth (Alan) Schulz, John (Marie) Murdoch, Mary Lou (Wayne) Versey and Luann (Ross) Dodds; 49 grandchildren, 135 great grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren; two brothers and two sisters Tressa Garrett, Howard Murdoch, Wallace Murdoch and Katie Lyon survive. Predeceased by his first wife Winona Lee Murdoch; a son Ronald Murdoch; and six brothers and sisters Rue Murdoch, Blanche Reiman, Reed Murdoch, Thomas Murdoch, Jean Blanchard and Martha Reed.

Service held Saturday, January 26, 2008 at the Shelley LDS South Stake Center. Burial under the direction of Wood Funeral Home in Idaho Falls.
