ELIZABETH ELKINS OBITUARY
Elizabeth Dianne Elkins, 64, of Rock Hill, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, May 26, 2018 surrounded by her family at home after courageous 18 year battle with Multiple Myeloma . She was preceded in death by her parents William Onward Smart and Christine Freeman Smart. She was a member of Catawba Baptist church where she touched the hearts of children teaching Children's Church and Sunday School for many years. She has volunteered in the Rock Hill schools for over 30 years with the last ten being at Mount Holly Elementary with her extended family. Dianne was loved and known by all the kids as Mrs. Dianne. Dianne loved her peaches and cream Pelican's snowballs who has shown much kindness during this difficult time. She also enjoyed her farm life and growing vegetables - mainly to give to others. She would give all she had to others and loved doing it. Dianne loved her grandkids more than words can express and would do anything for them and her children. We would like to send out a special thanks to Levine Cancer Institute for all the great care over the years - especially to Dr. Gary Frenette. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, George; 3 children, Georgette Bell (Eric), Rebecca Christopher (Johnny), Suzanne Ashworth (Steven);5 grandchildren, Johnathan, Michaela, Hannah, Harley, Jacob and those she considered her own ; 2 brothers, William Smart (Kathy), Frank Smart (Jean). A funeral will be held Tuesday at 5:00pm at Catawba Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Monday evening at the Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home.
