Betty Dickens, 83 years old of Mayflower, AR, went to be with the Lord on July 9, 2022. Betty was born on December 15, 1938, in Cato, AR, to Earnest and Pearlie Iburg.

Betty married Jerrell Dickens on March 17, 1956, and moved to Oakland, California. There she worked for Sunshine Biscuits. Then on December 26, 1956, she gave birth to her first born, Wayne. Two years later adding Gail to the family. Soon after that the family returned to Arkansas. In 1969 the family moved to Anchorage, Alaska, where she worked at Sears and Roebuck and enjoyed the beauty of Alaska with her family. In 1974 they moved back to Arkansas to purchase Dickens Grocery and worked it as a family run business for 17 years. She retired for a short time and then went back to work for Acxiom Corporation for 12 years. She was a dedicated Wife, Mother, and Grandmother, she loved her family. Betty loved to cook, camp, and spend time with friends and loved ones.

Betty is survived by her husband of 66 years, Jerrell Dickens; her daughter, Gail Dickens Erwin (Doug) of Cabot, AR; three grandchildren, Luke Erwin of Cabot, Dalton Dickens of Owasso, OK, and Holly Dickens of Stillwater, OK; two sisters, Lena Coker (Leonard) of Mayflower, and Beverly Kay Shirley (Tom) of Vilonia AR, as well as many other family members and great friends.

Betty was preceded in death by her son, Wayne Dickens; her mother and father, and one sister, Martha Fulmer.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm July 13, 2022, at Mayflower First Baptist Church. Brother Terry Turner will be officiating. Burial will follow at Mayflower Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday July 12, 2022, from 6-8:00pm at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway, AR.

Serving as pallbearers will be, Bobby Coker, Billy Wayne McCaghren, Billy McCaghren Jr., Wade McCaghren, Randy Jones, and Tony Woodham. Honorary pallbearers will be Leonard Coker, Tom Shirley, Jeffrey McCoy, and Austin Coker.
