Mrs. Wells was a native of Sampson County and the daughter of the late William Eugene Johnson and Inez Highsmith Johnson and was the widow of Ben Frank Wells. She was predeceased by a son, William Frank Wells. She was a member of the Eastern Star, Siloam Baptist Church, and the National Executive Housekeepers of America. She retired from Vocational Rehabilitation Service of Virginia. She died in Mary Gran Nursing Center at age 88.
