John Charles Hubbard, 64, of Homestead Florida passed away on Monday, September 20th, 2021. John was born November 15th, 1956, in Homestead, Florida to Donovan and Ruth Hubbard (née Bailey). John spent his childhood in sunny Florida with his siblings, Tommy and Terry, fishing, sport shooting, and reading comic books. John graduated from South Dade High School. On October 1st, 1983, he married the love of his life, Gwenda McKiness. John loved their three children and dedicated his life to supporting his family. He was employed by Florida Power and Light at the Turkey Point Power Plant where he remained for over 40 years. He was promoted several times over the course of his career, and he was a proud member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. John loved history and he spent his spare time searching for antiques and collectibles, watching classic western movies, and chatting on the phone with his children. He is survived by his stepson, Joshua Newton and wife Carolina, his son, John Nicholas Hubbard and wife Juliette, and his daughter Erin Hubbard. He is also survived by his granddaughter, Theodora Hubbard, and his siblings, Terry and Tommy. He is preceded in death by his wife, Gwenda Hubbard.
