Harry Leon Hess of Lititz, PA fell asleep in death on May 14, 2014 at the age of 87.

He was born to Harry E. and Teresa Hess, August 13, 1926, in Lancaster, PA.

He is survived by Doris, his loving wife of 65 years; son Michael and his wife Linda of Mountville; daughter Julie of Lititz.

He was preceded in death by his brother Joseph Hess and sister, Edna Sample.

Harry served in the Navy during WWII aboard the USS Conklin from 1944 - 1947.

Harry worked as an architectural draftsman and in sales. He was retired from J.C. Snavely & Sons. He then started his own business, Building Systems.

Harry was known for his kind smile and caring ways. He is remembered as a truly loving husband, father and friend.

Harry had a strong faith which he enjoyed sharing. He lovingly served the Fruitville Pike Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses congregation as an Elder.

He enjoyed time spent with his family, vacations at the beach, playing cards, and breakfast with friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2014, 2:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 921 Fruitville Pike, Lititz.

Friends may offer condolences beginning at 12:30 p.m. and also immediately after the service.
