He was born on December 11, 1929.
In James' early career, he served in the United States Army. He went on to receive his Master's degree in Administration from the University of St. Thomas, going on to teach and then into Administration. After 28 years at School District 197 in Saint Paul, he retired. James was a member of the Minnesota Association of Secondary School Principals. After retirement, he served as a growth group facilitator/leader at St. Mary's Hospital for 12 years and served on the board of Thomas Lake Country Homes. James and his beloved wife Janice loved to travel and shared many adventures together, including biking twice for MS across the state of Minnesota.
He is survived by his children; Michael (Gillian), David (Lena), Melissa (Joseph), Jean (Bill), Jill (Alan), 17 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
James is preceded in death by his wife Janice and grandson William.
James is greatly missed and left us with many fond memories. Our family is very appreciative of the excellent care and kindness he received from the staff at Heart to Home.
