Bobby moved to California right after high school and lived there until 2021. He returned often to visit his family, but returned home for good to spend time with his favorite person, his mom. They had a very special relationship and she was the center of his world. This is fitting, as Bobby was always known as "The Golden Child" by his siblings, Jimmy and Lisa. Bobby had a severe love of learning and would research all topics to gain a firm understanding of it. He would dive in head first and soak up all the information he could find. He always wanted to do what was best for others and would help in any way he could. His time was also spent with his friends and their children.
A quiet person until you got to know him, Bobby was known for his amazing sense of humor. Whether it was his own made up language he had with his good friend, Justin or trying to make those around him laugh. He had a way to bring out the laughter so strong your stomach hurt.
Since being back in Indiana, Bobby found his place at a church in Fort Branch. He just happened to pass the church one day and went inside where found his spiritual home and family. He even enjoyed driving to the church property and reading under the big tree out back. He had finally found his peace.
Bobby was preceded in death by his father, James Phillips Sr and brother James Phillips Jr, and grandparents.
Bobby is remembered daily by the light of his world, his mother Linda (Hadley) Phillips, sister Lisa (Jason) Boone, niece Ireland Boone, nephews Seth and Cian Boone, and Jordan Phillips. Also left broken hearted are close friends Jennifer Wilson, Lexxi and Avery Wilson, Justin Heim, and Jamie Baker. A public memorial will be held at New Liberty Church 10980 450 W Fort Branch, IN from 4-7 pm with a small service at 7 pm.
