Mary Ann (Kucker) Evans, born Aug. 13, 1937, in Fort Worth Texas to Henry Clyde Kucker and Elva Mae Frances. Mary met Rayford Evans and married Oct. 6, 1953 and began her life of travel as an Air Force wife. After having three children, Cheryl, Edward and Ernest in the Fort Worth Texas area, Mary and Rayford moved to Puerto Rico. In Puerto Rico, Mary worked as a car hop on roller skates until she gave birth to her fourth child, Terry. From Puerto Rico the U.S. Air Force moved them to Columbus Ohio where she worked in food service, and as a retail clerk. Mary was always working with her children on school assignments. While in Ohio she finished her high school degree by getting her GED. In 1977, Mary lost her 16-year-old son, Terry Evans in a fatal car accident. Years later, Rayford retired from the U.S. Air Force and moved with Mary to Fort Worth, Texas. In 1998, Rayford died of colon cancer. After Mary's losses, she still had a heart of gold. She worked as a teacher's assistant for 1st thru 3rd grade and in the music class for the Castleberry ISD. She often talked fondly of the children who she greeted daily and getting hugs in returned. Mary also worked as a customer service cashier at Carswell AF Base Exchange and later as an Info clerk for the Tarrant County Clerk's office before she retired. Mary volunteered as a bingo caller for the seniors at the River Oaks Community Center for several years.
Mary Evans was an amazing lady; her heart was huge, and she loved everyone around her. Mary was always up to trying new things like jumping on a pogo stick. She loved to bake and was known for her chocolate peanut butter brownies and banana pudding. Her other hobbies were sewing, paint by number, ceramics and bowling, Mary loved music, she could play the piano, violin and guitar. Mary could not sit still when one of her favorite songs was playing. When she played the piano, the family would gather around her and join her in song. She also gave her children piano lessons.
Last Thursday, June 30, 2022, Mary Ann (Kucker) Evans, joined God's Angels and moved her final residence to Heaven to be with our Lord God, Rayford Evans and Terry Evans. I know she'll be joining the angels in the Heavenly Choir and making beautiful music on a piano, guitar, or violin. She will be dearly missed here on earth. We draw comfort in knowing that we will see her again one day.
Preceded in death by her loving husband, Rayford H. Evans; her son, Terry L. Evans; sister, Margaret Barnes; and her brothers, Dan Kucker and Buster Kucker.
Survivors: Children, Cheryl Ginunas and husband, George, Edward Evans and wife, Carla and Ernest Evans and wife, Michelle; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren, with one in the oven; and her sister, Francis Kucker Brooks.

Funeral: 9:30 a.m. Thursday, July 7, 2022, in Greenwood Chapel. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Greenwood.
