Maria Lita B. Medina, 78, was born on June 2, 1944, in Sampaloc, Manila, Philippines, to Ciriaco and Paciencia (nee Galan) Bacay. She peacefully entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at her home surrounded by family.
Maria Lita, lovingly known as Lita by family and friends, is survived by her daughter, Jonelle (David) Do; her cherished grandchildren Alexander, Isabella and Julianna; 6 siblings and her many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Amor L. Medina, Jr ; her daughter, Aileen Marie Medina; her grandson, Michael and her parents.
Lita was the youngest of 9 siblings: the late Lorenzo (the late Luz) Bacay, Lourdes Padolina, Ramon (the late Nessie) Bacay, Ramiro (the late Marcelina) Bacay, the late Manuel (Dina) Bacay, Minda (the late Cleto) Cortes, Natividad (Charlie) Hilario and Nelia Bacay.
She was a devout Catholic, loved being a Lola to her grandchildren, was an avid gardener, and enjoyed cooking and entertaining. She always wanted to take care of people and was affectionately a second mom to all her nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Thursday, 14 July 2022 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 2525 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights, IL 60004, and from 9:00 am until 9:45 am, Friday, July 15, 2022, at St. Edna Catholic Church, 2525 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights, IL where Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 am. Entombment following at All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines, IL.
