James Michael "Jim" Welch, age 47, of Stanford, Kentucky, passed unexpectedly Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at his home. Born Friday, September 13, 1974, in Lexington, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Richard Lee & Beverly Karen (Welch) Guest. Jim worked, for the past four years, on the third shift at McDonald's in Danville, Kentucky. Jim was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church, and previously coached soccer teams at the Little League, Middle School, and High School levels. Jim was an avid University of Louisville Cardinals fan.

Jim leaves to cherish his memory four children, Jonah Myles Welch of Danville, Kaela Rae Welch of Hustonville, Kentucky, and Braedon Jaymes Welch and Peyton Marie Welch both of Stanford; one granddaughter, Norah Faye Quinn-Welch of Hustonville; four brothers, and sisters, Michelle R. Mundy (Ray Jones) of Paducah, Kentucky, Christopher L. Guest (Sylvia) of Lexington, Kentucky, Arnes R. Buford (Katrina) of Harrodsburg, Kentucky, and Joi Marie Guest Welch (Cartail Houston) of Stanford; one uncle, Michael Welch (Gina) of Stanford; one aunt, Vicci Welch Penman (George) of Stanford; a host of nieces and nephews; and one great-nephew.

A Public Visitation will be held 11AM-1PM Monday, July 11, 2022, at Fox & Friend Funeral Home.

The Public Funeral Service will be held 1:00PM Monday, at the funeral home. Rev. Floyd Raglin & Elder Jerry Wilkinson will officiate the service. The Funeral Service will be live streamed on his memorial page of Fox & Friend Funeral Home's website.

Burial will follow in Barrows Cemetery. Jonah Myles Welch, Sean Penman, Shayne Penman, Marcellous Jones, Cartail Houston, Gary Honaker, and Michael Lewis Welch, Jr. will serve as Active Pallbearers. Richard Brynan Chappell, Trail Lee Houston, and Tyler Jones will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
