David E. Tingle was born on April 1, 1945 in Arapahoe, N.C. to Herman Tingle and Mildred Scott Tingle.

He passed away at his home in Sherman, TX. On July 2, 2022.

David was in the USAF for 20 yrs in air rescue and recovery, which allowed him to see much of the world while serving, as he was a Vietnam Veteran. After retiring from the service, he went to work for Super Sack in Savoy. TX. Where he worked 20 yrs before retiring from his second career. Of all his hobbies he loved woodcarving and being out in nature the most, he also enjoyed hunting. Helicopters were a huge interest to David as he spoke about helicopters and his time on them with his grandsons and friends whenever he got the chance. David loved his family and all the time he got to spend with them.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Bruce and Kelley and his daughter Deanna M. Tingle.

He is survived by his wife Linda, daughter and son-in-law Tamara and Kenneth Reid, grandchildren, Frisco Reid, Brianna Reid, Benjamin Reid and Erin Plemmons. Also, great granddaughter, Sophia Marie Reid, sister Freeda and husband John Caccioppoli and half-brother Alan Tingle. In lieu of flowers please donate to The Wounded Warrior Project or your favorite charity.

Family night will be held on Thursday, July 7th from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM

Funeral services will be held at 10:00AM on Friday, July 8th at the Waldo Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Cedarlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
