Lorraine S. Willis, age 77, passed away Friday, July 8, 2022 while she was surrounded by her loving family.
Lorraine was born in Savannah while her father was stationed there with the United States Army. She was a member of New Bethel United Methodist Church where her family has attended for multiple generations.
Never meeting a stranger, Lorraine was a social butterfly. She was a gracious hostess and enjoyed helping her aunt Joyce Tuner Mann with catering at Rainbow Manor.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William H. Stratton and Jimmie Ruth Turner Stratton.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Vernon Willis; two children, David Willis of Elberton and Sharon Willis Mills (Ryan) of Bowman; sister, Lynne Evans (Tommy) of Elberton; niece, Cindy Evans Agnew of Greenville, South Carolina; and great nieces, Aspen Agnew of Los Angeles, California and Caludia Agnew of Greenville. The title she was most proud of was being "NeNa" to her granddaughter, Summer Milford (Jake) of Hartwell; and to her great grandsons, Halstyn and Hampton.
A memorial celebration will take place at 11:00 A.M. Monday, July 11, 2022 at New Bethel. Reverend Richard Jarvis will officiate and Sandra Turner Gaines Huelett will speak. Interment will be private.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
