Lori Bennett née Hemphill, 58, passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 30, 2020, due to natural causes.
She was born in Phoenix Arizona to Betty and Norman Hemphill. When she was twenty years old, she enlisted in the United States Army and served as an Army labtech for six years. During her time in service, she was lauded for her compassion and competence and received two Certificates of Achievement and the Army Commendation Medal. She later married Chris Bennett, and together they had three children: Nigel, Kat, and Jesse Bennett.
Lori was a kind-hearted person, and she was always ready to laugh and have fun with her loved ones. She was an avid cook. Recipes left behind will never be able to replace meals made with love, and no simple cookbook will ever be able to match her creativity and talent as the Leftover Queen. She also enjoyed gardening and camping. Her loved ones will always think of her whenever they work with good soil or go camping on a mountain. Above all else, Lori Bennett always tried to be the best mom she could be. Her children will always remember her.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on August 17th at Jenkin's Beach in Dedham at 5:30 p.m. The rain date is August 20th and will be held at the same time. All friends and family are invited. Her final service and resting place will be in Arizona in September. She will be laid to rest on a family plot with her older brother, Richard Hemphill, and her mother, Betty Hemphill.
