Ed has 6 loving step children: Tom(Jody) Smith, Timothy(Terret)Smith, Terrance(Karen)Smith, June(Jim)Ruda, Audrey Gregory, Kolleen(Jeff)Stasevich, and 12 terrific step grandchildren Lyndsey, Joshua, Beca, Tamsin, Landon, Colton, Ashley, Katelyn, Megan, (all Smith) , Lucas Ruda, Dillon and Brian(Megan) Stasevich.
Ed was preceded in death by his late wife Sue Porter Thompson , Stepson Eric Beaven, and parents Luther and Irene Thompson.
Ed was born and reared in Leesburg, Florida. A place he truly loved and often shared many fond memories. Ed Graduated from Leesburg High School, class of '59. Best classmates ever! He worked in the insurance business for over 20 years and had his own jewelry business for many years.
Ed served his country while in the Army over in Germany. He was a wonderful and much loved husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was a truly devoted Christian man who served faithfully in worship and ministry through the years at First Baptist Church of Leesburg.
Ed passed away peacefully at his home. He left quite a legacy and will be missed.
