Janet (Brooks) Bailey, 83, of Park Hills, left her earthly body on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 and was immediately standing in the presence of the one she served her entire life, Jesus Christ.
She was born on August 12, 1938, to the late Eugene and Edith Brooks, who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death was the love of her life, Marion Bailey, whom she shared 50 years, two precious granddaughters, Carla Crocker and Amy Harrison, and her mother and father-in-law, Ernest and Dorothy Bailey.
Janet was a proud and faithful member of the Fellowship Free will Baptist Church in which she devoted many, many years, teaching and ministering to children of all ages.
Those she left behind are her three children: Debbie (Chris) Stegall, Mark (Shelly) Bailey, and Shelly (Mark) Wampler. Also surviving are her nine grandchildren, Ashley (Derrick) Hulsey, April (Jeff) Moyers, Bailey (Morgan) Stegall, Matt (Kaitlynn) Bailey, Joe Bailey, Zach (Bridget) Reitz, Alex Reitz, Ashley Wampler and Tiffany (Cory) Marler; sixteen great grandchildren who she adored: Nash Davis, Hattie Crocker, Emma McGill, Reese Hulsey, Piper Hulsey, Izabelle Hill, Emily Moyers, Ryan Moyers, Ida Stegall, Max Bailey, Miles Bailey, Jett Bailey, Stella Reitz, Sadie Reitz, Maycee Wampler and Jackson Marler. She is also survived by two sisters, Sylvia (John) Jaynes and Gloria (Rich) Botkin and her brother-in-law, Ken (Peggy) Bailey. Many cousins, nieces and nephews survive as well as her church family, many of whom were as close as immediate family.
Visitation was held at her church, the Fellowship Free Will Baptist, in Park Hills, MO on Sunday, April 24, 2022 from 1 pm till the time of service at 3 pm, with her pastor, Curt Gwartney, officiating.
Burial was at the St. Francois Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorials can be made to the Fellowship Free Will Baptist Church Choir Fund in which she sang for over 50 years.
