Retaining Ammunition. At the Masterton Police Court this morning, before Mr S. L. P. Free, S.M., Henry Beresford Maunsell, of Tenui, was charged with having 375 rounds of automatic pistol ammunition unlawfully in his possession. Senior-Sergeant Cummings said that defendant, who is a returned officer, had an automatic pistol, which he applied to be allowed to retain. When defendant was asked if he had possession of any ammunition he admitted he had. It was illegal to have ammunition after April 1st. OBITUARY
The many friends of Mr H. B. Maunsell of Rathkeale, Opaki, will learn with profound regret of the death of his wife in England on Wednesday. Not long ago Mr Maunsell took his wife to England and arranged for her to remain there for a period, in order to undergo a course of treatment for an ailment which was proving difficult to treat satisfactorily. Deceased, who was of a charming disposition, was a daughter of Mr and Mrs G. H. Collie, of Masterton. She leaves, besides her husband, three daughters to mourn a sad loss.

In 1939 Henry next married Phoebe Muriel Thompson (1898-1983) in New Zealand
