Charles Raymond Humphrey Jr., age 69, of Grapeland, Texas passed away on Friday, July 1, 2022, in Grapeland, Texas. He was born on November 24, 1952 to parents Charles R. Humphrey Sr. and Virginia (Vanechek) Humphrey in Houston, Texas.

Memorial mass will be held at 10AM on Friday, July 8, 2022 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church officiated by Fr. Cristian Zelaya, followed by a burial at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Palestine, under the direction of Herrington/ Land of Memory.

Mr. Humphrey lived in Grapeland for a couple years and was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Charles was a defense contracting consultant for many years after retiring from Southwestern Bell after more than 20 years. He enjoyed traveling and visiting with his family. Charles honorably served his country in the US Army obtaining the rank of Army Captain. Mr. Humphrey is loved and will be dearly missed.

Charles was preceded in death by his father, Charles R. Humphrey Sr.; brother, Tommy Humphrey; and stepfather, Bill Nichols.

He is survived by his mother, Virginia Nichols of Palestine; daughter, Heather Wall (Matt) of Gig Harbor, WA; brother, Dave Humphrey (Cindy) of Austin, TX; sister, Kathy Loflin (Buddy) of Hearne, TX; grandchildren, Harrison Wall, and Wyatt Wall; as well as numerous other family and loved ones.
