25 Sep 1864 - Admitted to Andersonville, Georgia Hospital for Scorbutus, a disease caused by lack of vitamin C, characterized by general weakness, anemia, gum disease, and skin hemorrhages.
Had to be discharged from the hospital, as Florence got pregnant about Dec 1864 and Rosetta was born Jul 1865. There are no records that show Able re-enlisted and died in the war. Abel either died before 1870 or went off somewhere. Abel is not listed in Monks Cemetery with his parents or Greenwood Cemetery with his brother Joseph
